How beautiful is September?

The days are still bright as Summer still lingers on, but the Autumn breezes are beginning creep in, with a crisp chill in the  air. I love it as the leaves start to change with all the beautiful colours of the season, it's a magical sight. Cozy nights, warm slippers and pumpkin spice lattes are on their way!

 

September is an exciting month for me, with lots of lovely things to look forward to and embrace....

 

One of my favourite parts of the business, is the trade shows. They are great places to find inspiration, to network and to learn something new and the excitement of visiting new exhibitors.
 I like to get a head start on the show and make sure that I'm as organized as I can be, with a good plan of action. I like to find out which of my existing suppliers will be there showcasing, and where there stand will be.
Whether they will have show offers, that I can take advantage of and to see all their new collections.

I run through the show exhibitors list, to see if any catch my eye. I'll be armed with a giant notebook and pen, my phone (for photos), comfortable shoes and a good coffee! Trade shows always start with a coffee!

It's that time, that all the new Autumn/Winter 22 collections arrive. Delivery after delivery of amazing new goodies. The excitement of stacks of boxes waiting to be opened, that I know are filled with stunning new colour palettes and gorgeous new textures and lots of sparkle to get ready for Christmas. It's like being a child again. It is definitely a highlight of my job.

 

Although I'm continually searching for new product lines, the beginning of Autumn is a key time for sourcing new goodies. I spend so much time attending trade fairs and finding other ways to bring new lines into my little shop. I also attend the launches of new collections with my existing companies, who always surprise me with their outstanding designs and products and it's always super exciting.

I feel so lucky to have such an amazing, loyal customer base, therefore I work hard to bring in products that I know my customers will adore and will make the most perfect gift to themselves or someone special. Fabulous gift ideas that I know they will enjoy gifting to their nearest and dearest. 

 

The date is set and the preparations will be well under way this month. Checking orders and deliveries, unpacking and pricing. Organising posters, and advertising. My hubby and children walk for miles and miles, posting flyers through letterboxes to let everyone know about our event. I always get a little nervous, worrying that no-one will turn up! But every year, I end up with the biggest smile on my face and a heart filled to bursting, at the amount of people that visit. My wonderful existing customers, who are as loyal as they come, and lots of new faces, that have either been told by a friend or who have seen it advertised.

It's always a fabulous week, a week of happiness, a week of fun and the week that we all start to think about Christmas!

 

So September is a busy, fun loving, exciting month and I can't wait to get started and take you along for the ride.
