The Queens Jubilee

Well I'm finding all the run up to the jubilee so exciting. I even put the bunting up on the shop today! I wouldn't class myself as a royalist, but I adore the queen, I think she's just lovely. I think it's because her smile, twinkly eyes and white curly hair remind me of my nan.
The queen is an extraordinary, graceful, much loved and respected lady. An inspirational monarch with the strongest sense of duty and devotion to a life of service
This weekend, her Majesty The Queen, will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, seventy years of service, having acceded to the throne on 6th February 1952 when Her Majesty was 25 years old. How amazing is that?
From a young girl who did not expect to be Queen, to an iconic and celebrated figure who has ruled for almost 70 years.

The UK has a long tradition of celebrating Royal Jubilees, Weddings and Coronations and I don't know about you, but I love an occasion. People getting together, and any excuse for a bit of bunting. So how will you be celebrating?

My little girl Honey, is celebrating at her school. They are going dressed in red white and blue ( I've had to buy her special jubilee hair bows!) and they are having a jubilee picnic in the afternoon on the school field. She cant wait!

So are you off to a street party, an afternoon tea or a garden party? I've been helping people in the shop over the last couple of weeks with accessories for the occasion. Everyone has stayed traditional with the red, white and blue theme and I'm loving it.
A splash of red with the gorgeous Katie Loxton scarf
A classic touch of white with this gorgeous Esme envelope bag
And a sparkling bit of blue!

For the perfect Jubilee celebration gift for any dessert-a-holic! The amazing Cocoba chocolate has launched a 'Best of British' range. It's currently in the shop and I can tell you now, they're delicious. This chocolate bar range celebrates the greatest of British desserts. Each generously decorated with an abundance of chocolate drizzle and toppings to resemble classic British puddings.  Collection includes: Apple Crumble chocolate bar, Sticky Toffee Pudding chocolate bar, Eton Mess chocolate bar and a Lemon Meringue chocolate bar.  Go on, you know you want to...

I think for me it'll be an afternoon tea with cucumber sandwiches with the crusts cut off. Scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam. A BIG Victoria sponge and some fizz. Of course I'll have to get out a china tea set with proper cups and saucers (even if the teapot is full of gin!)

But whatever you're doing, enjoy the time with family and friends, as these times spent together are precious.

Happy Jubilee weekend xx
